I was one of five filmmakers across the US selected to create one of five short films for the launch of Bloomingdale's film themed fall collection. As well as being displayed in all forty Bloomingdale's stores across America the five films were available online as part of a nationwide competition. I was fortunate enough to win and as a result I'll be sent to the Indie Spirit Film Awards in March next year in LA which I'm so looking forward to. Hope you enjoy it.

THE LOVE GAME

My most recent short film is The Love Game. I was one of five filmmakers selected from across America to compete in a Nationwide film competition. The “Bflix” series was sponsored by Bloomingdale’s as a part of their Fall 2009 Film-themed campaign. I was up against a talented selection of filmmakers that included Robert Redford’s daughter, Amy. The films were showcased online and in all the Bloomingdale’s stores throughout the US where people could shop, watch and vote. At the end of six weeks of viewing and voting The Love Game was awarded the winning film sending me to the 2010 Film Independent Spirit Awards in Los Angeles. Written, produced and directed by Andrew Hunt.

This was shot on a garbage dump on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. Produced and Directed by Andrew Hunt.

THE ZABALEEN

These children live in a place on the outskirts of Cairo called Moqattam. They are part of the Zabaleen who live on a garbage dump and make a living from collecting and sorting Cairo's refuse. It amazed me how happy and content they were despite their circumstances and surroundings.

We did this as an animation pitch for a client. It's for a film that looks at the Bible from a point of view of narrative and mythology rather than theology. We started with my thumbnails then I worked with a great NY storyboard artist, David Zung, and he re-drew those with lensing and perspective. We then began creating animatics from those in After Effects focusing on the 3D camera until the moves were right. The scanned drawings were then colored digitally by the amazing Stephanie Caw, comped and all final camera moves done in AE before sending off to sound design, music and mix. It was a fun little project to do and was well received by the investors. We're now waiting to hear back on the finance for the film in order to move forward.

MYTHOPOEIA

This is a scene from a feature project that was in development called Mythopoeia (working title). It's a look at the Bible story from the point of view of literary narrative and mythology rather than theology. It was done to show investors the kind of animation technique and look that would be employed for the film. As a result some of the illustrations are still at a "mock-up" level whereas others are more fully developed. This was done using pencil illustrations that were scanned, Colored in photoshop then composited and animated in After Effects. Written and directed by Andrew Hunt.

I was commissioned to make a 7 minute prologue for the re-release of the 25 year old, Hollywood released, Warner Bros distributed "Jesus Film". It was shot on 35mm film on location in South Africa and in a studio in Bristol. Written, produced and directed by Andrew Hunt.

A NEW PROLOGUE TO: "THE JESUS FILM"

Over thirty years ago a motion picture called "The Jesus Film" had its opening at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. It went on to become the most watch piece of cinema in history earning itself a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. A few years ago the film was being re-released and the producers commissioned a new seven minute prologue to the film. (Essentially the Old Testament in seven minutes) It was shot on super 35mm film on location in South Africa, and in a studio in England. Written, produced and directed by Andrew Hunt.
